Olymel S.E.C./ L.P. Recalls Pork Products Produced Without Benefit of Import Inspection

WASHINGTON, Feb. 6, 2018 Olymel S.E.C./ L.P., an Alberta, Canada establishment, is recalling approximately 4,618 pounds of raw intact pork products because the products were imported from Canada and not presented for import re-inspection upon entry into the United States, the U.S. Department of Agricultures Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) announced today. The raw intact pork products were produced on various dates from Jan. 22, 2018 through Feb. 5, 2018. The following products are subject to recall: [ View Labels (PDF Only)] These items were shipped to retail and restaurant locations in Oregon and Washington and exported to a Department of Defense Commissary in Japan. The problem was discovered on Feb. 5, 2018 by an FSIS import inspector. There have been no confirmed reports of adverse reactions due to consumption of these products. Anyone concerned about a reaction should contact a healthcare provider. Consumers who have purchased these products are urged not to consume them. These products should be thrown away or returned to the place of purchase. FSIS routinely conducts recall effectiveness checks to verify recalling firms notify their customers of the recall and that steps are taken to make certain that the product is no longer available to consumers.
